About Dr. Raj Shankar Ghosh
Dr. Raj Shankar Ghosh is currently a Public Health Consultant. He was the Senior Advisor for Vaccine Delivery at the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. He is a physician with 30 years of experience in public health program policy, planning, and implementation.
Dr. Ghosh has worked in a large variety of organizations that range from small field-level non-governmental organizations, State Health services, the World Health Organization, international developmental partners such as PATH and the Institute for One World Health, and donor organizations such as the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
He has led a team of clinical researchers to develop drugs for neglected diseases like Visceral Leishmaniasis in South Asia; influenced policy decisions in new vaccine introduction in multiple countries in South Asia; and spearheaded public health program planning and implementation in India and Nepal.
His current focus is primarily on advocacy for evidence-based policies and capacity building in public health institutions in India.
He was awarded the prestigious Fellowship of Indian Public Health Association in 2014.
